Michelle & Dan at The Roundhouse
A restrained garden palette with modern twists and textures, plus a "fire hazard" level of candles, to use the bride's words. This August Hudson Valley wedding combined minimalist colors with maximalist shapes.
Michelle and Dan came to us with a particular white and green balance in mind, and they knew they wanted a show-stopping ceremony backdrop. To keep classic ingredients contemporary and to give the guests and the camera visual depth, we played petal-heavy florals against dramatic linear stems.
We created lush statement arrangements, dreamy aisle flowers, and elegant bud vases for the ceremony and reception, accented with nearly 250 candles. Alabaster garden roses, white ranunculus, and mojito hydrangeas mixed and mingled with bells of Ireland, campanula, and hanging amaranthus.
The final touch was preserved (real) gardenias, a favorite of the bride's late grandmother that would never wilt in the August heat. And after the big day, we donated the flowers to a local nonprofit, courtesy of the couple.
